New Black Stars Head Coach Will Be Announced Soon – Sports Minister

Mustapha Yussif, the Minister of Youth, Sports, and Culture has said that Ghana’s football governing body, the GFA, is working on appointing a new head coach for the Black Stars in the immediate future.

Asked to comment on the appointment of a new Black Stars coach, he revealed that he has met with the administrators of Ghana football in person to be abreast with the processing of hiring a new coach.

He confirmed that he has been given assurances by the FA that a final report would be presented to his ministry by next week for it to be finalized, more so as the team has to prepare for AFCON qualifiers beginning in March.

Mustapha Yussif had the disclosure when he appeared before the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament (PAC) to respond to questions about infractions sighted against his ministry in the Auditor General’s report of 2020.

The Black Stars are currently without a substantive head coach after the resignation of Otto Addo in December last year.
