Ghanaian winger Nana Ampomah and German club Fortuna Düsseldorf are set to go their separate ways. According to Bild, the Rhinelanders are making preparations to sever their relationship with the 27-year-old.
It is anticipated a severance package would be arranged in the near future. Come summer, the left-winger who just had been to the reserve side of the team after his return from loan, contract will expire.
The Ghana international has been cited for violating the team rules; he has consistently had off-the-field challenges since he debuted for the club in 2019.
The last time Nana Amponah played for his parent club was in September 2020 and has since been loaned out to Royal Antwerp.
Nana Ampomah is said to be a destructive figure in the team’s dressing since and it is believed his departure will bring some sanity to the squad.
The 27-year-old reported later for team duties upon the resumption of the league after the 2022 FIFA Men’s World Cup.
