I Felt I Wasn’t Worthy To Lay My Vocals On Bob Marley’s Record – Sarkodie

Ace Ghanaian rapper, Michael Owusu Addo better known by his stage name, Sarkodie has revealed that he felt unworthy to sing on Bob Marley & The Wailers’ ‘Stir It Up’ remake.

Speaking on a recent podcast, the SarkCess boss revealed that he never wanted to take the deal as he felt that he was nowhere worthy of such an opportunity.

“When I had the email, I almost passed it on, and not just out of respect, I felt that I was not worthy to lay my vocals next to the legend. I was really hard on myself,” he revealed to Sideman.

He added that when he finally listened to the original song, he was left in a spiritual trance where he could feel the presence of Bob Marley.

“When I was listening to it, it was a very spiritual moment. It felt like being with him in the booth. There are few people I feel like that when I worked with them. “
