Senator Chimaroke Nnamani has finally revealed the reason behind his throwing his support behind Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The senator has alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) destabilized the principle of power rotation when it breached its constitution.
According to Nnamani in his statement on Sunday in Abuja, the constitution of the PDP stipulated that in order to provide fairness, equity, and justice, important political offices are supposed to be rotated between the North and the South.
He insisted that the internal presidential primaries held last year led to the disaffection of many PDP supporters from the south including G5 governors who are bent on adhering to the rotational policy of the party.
Senator Nnamani alleges that Atiku Abubakar’s election as a presidential candidate was the result of a twist of events and political maneuvering. And after having critically analyzed the situation, he found Ahmed Bola Tinubu as a more credible candidate to represent the South in the 2023 general elections.
