Nyesom Wike, the Governor of River State has disclosed that he would “hit back” at the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday.
Governor Wike who is a member of the G5 delivered the warning at a rally in the Etche Local Government area of the state, in reaction to a notice from the national leadership of the PDP of some attorneys appearing in court without legal briefs and authorization.
The PDP had announced that it would not hold back when it came to taking stringent measures on infractions that are deemed to be fraudulent, questionable, and misleading.
Debo Ologunagba, the PDP spokesperson quoted Article 42 of the party’s constitution which confers exclusive responsibility of conducting litigations on its National Legal Advisor.
He stated that it is only the National Legal Advisor of the party who has the right to engage external solicitors on the party’s behalf.
Wike sent a strong warning to the PDP leadership that attempts to smear him with anti-party allegations will come with consequences.
He alleges that the national leadership has colluded and written to his lawyers asking them to take their hands off the case they had filed.
The governor says that he has told them to take their hands off the case, which means the case will die but he will hit them back on Tuesday.
