Black Galaxies Coach Annor Walker Didn’t Select His Squad Based On Merit – Fmr. Deputy Sports Minister

Vincent Asamoah, a former Deputy Minister of Sports has given his verdict on the performance of the Black Galaxies at the ongoing 2022 CHAN tournament in Algeria.

He says that the course of Ghana was not helped by the fact that Ghana had an outmoded coach.

In an interview with Akoma FM, Mr. Asamoah said the bus stopped with coach Annor Walker, so he should be held responsible for the failure of the team because he called undeserving players to the BBlack Galaxies squad for the competition.

He said is it very embarrassing and shameful for Ghana to be beaten by Niger in a CAF competition. He added that the players who were called to the squad did not merit being in the team and that he needed convincing that those called are the best from the Ghana Premier League.

Mr. Asamoah questioned how a player like Kofi Kordzi could be selected as a striker for the team and an aging Awako make the squad. He went on further to say that Annor Walker has outmoded tactics and was unable to vary his tactics during a match.

The former Deputy Minister did not leave out the technical team who he described as being bad for their poor player selections.

Ghana was knocked out of the CHAN 2022 tournament at the quarterfinals stage by Niger.
