Famous American rapper, A$AP Rocky, born Rakim Athelaston Mayers has been charged with two counts of assault with a firearm after allegedly pointing a semi-automatic handgun at a victim in a shooting incident last year.
According to earlier reports, the 33-year-old and a companion got into a fight in Hollywood that turned violent and resulted in gunfire that injured the claimed victim’s hand. In a later altercation, according to the DA’s office, Mayers fired the pistol in the victim’s direction.
“Discharging a gun in a public place is a serious offense that could have ended with tragic consequences not only for the person targeted but also for innocent bystanders visiting Hollywood,” the DA, George Gascon said.
“My office conducted a thorough review of the evidence in this case and determined that the addition of a special firearm allegation was warranted,” he added.
A$AP who recently welcomed his first child with singer, Rihanna will be arraigned before the court on Wednesday, August 17 in LA.
