Ghana coach Charles Akonnor has said they will qualify from ‘tricky’ Group C if they prepare well for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
“It [the draw] went well. We see it as a very good group. A group that if we plan very well, we strategize, we should be able to go through.
“Everything went well. We now just have to prepare and when the day comes we will deliver,” coach Akonnor said in a press conference held virtually on Zoom on Friday.
Akonnor attended Tuesday evening’s draw in Yaounde, Cameroon where the delayed tournament will be staged next year.
The tactician saw his side paired against Morocco, Gabon and debutants Comoros in Group C.
The team’s opening match at the competition, which they haven’t won since 1982, is against Morocco – one of the heavy favourites.
Their second game will be against Gabon before wrapping up their group stage campaign against Comoros.
