AFCON 2021: Four Morocco Players Test Positive For COVID-19 Ahead Of Ghana Match

Four players of the Morocco national team have tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations opener against Ghana.

The Black Stars and the Atlas Lions will play their opener game tomorrow, Monday, January 10, at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé.

This was revealed by the Morocco head coach Vahid Halilhodzic today, Sunday, January 9, during the pre-match press conference.

The coach hinted that Strikers Ryan Mmaee, Youssef En-Nesyri, Ayoub El Kaabi as well as midfielder Aymen Barkok are likely to miss Monday’s crucial encounter as they have all tested positive for the virus.

Whist Ghana plays against Morocco in Group C at 4PM, Gabon and debutants Comoros who are in the same group will be playing at the same venue on the same day at 7PM.
