Andre Ayew believes in the Black Stars squad for the 2021 African Cup of nations, as he’s confident in the boys for winning the trophy for Ghana.
The Black Stars captain reiterated his support for the players and believes they will play a key role if Ghana to win the tournament, whilst addressing the press ahead of Ghana’s opening group game against Morocco.
“These guys have the opportunity to prove themselves to the world, and we are there to help them, we try to let them understand what an AFCON means,” he said.
“I believe in them because they have what it takes to be here, so I know they will make it, and we are here to guide them,” the Al Sadd winger added.
The Black Stars are seeking to end their 40 years AFCON drought by winning their 5th trophy, after winning their last trophy in 1982 in Libya.
Ghana will play their opener game against Morocco today, Monday, January 10, at 4PM before playing Gabon and Comoros respectively in the group stage.
