Alan J. Hruska was an American business attorney and film producer.
He was the creator of Soho Press, an independent publishing company that invests in serious fiction by unknown authors.
In the year 1985, he released his first novel, four decades before retiring from his day job at Cravath Swaine & Moore in New York in the year 2001.
Mr. Hruska is the author of several plays including The Man on Her Mind, New House Under Construction, and Ring Twice for Miranda (soon to be a film directed by Bruce Guthrie).
As a filmmaker, he has written and directed or co-directed four films: Nola, The Warrior Class, Reunion, and The Man on Her Mind.
