The late Ghanaian engineer and politician who was Vice-President of Ghana from 7 January 2001 to 7 January 2009, Alhaji Aliu Mahama wife, Ramatu Mahama, has died.
Aliu Mahama was a member of the New Patriotic Party, and he was Ghana’s first Muslim Vice-President.
He was born on March 3, 1946, Yendi and died on November 16, 2012, at the age of 66.

Ramatu Mahama died on Thursday afternoon, April 7, 2022, at the age of 70 her son, Farouk Mahama, who is also the Member of Parliament for Yendi confirmed in a statement.
“It is with deep sorrow, I announce the passing of my beloved mom, the former Second Lady of the Republic, Hajia Ramatu Aliu Mahama (neè Egala). She passed on peaceful in Accra at the Korlebu Teaching Hospital earlier this afternoon.”
“The family has lost a great pillar. Burial and funeral rites would be conducted in accordance with Islamic traditions. Further information will be provided in due course,” Farouk added.
