Anthony Stephen Fauci was born on 24 December 1940 in New York City.
He is an American physician-scientist and immunologist.
He is the Chief Medical Advisor to the President of the United States of America and the current director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
Fauci attended a private Jesuit school in Manhattan called Regis High School where he was on the school’s basketball team as captain. He went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in classics with a pre=med track at the College of the Holy Cross.
Fauci was ranked first in his when he graduated with a Doctor of Medicine from Cornell University’s Medical College.
In 1968 Fauci joined the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a clinical associate in the NIAID after completing his medical residency.
Fauci is a member of the Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (Awarded in 2020).
