According to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has received the blessings of President Muhammadu Buhari in the run-up to the 2023 general election.
The Director, of Media, and Publicity, APC PCC, Mr. Bayo Onanuga mentioned in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja that all efforts by the opposition to drive a non-existent rift between Buhari and Tinubu will fail.
He explained that Tinubu was not criticizing the Buhari administration when he raised the issue of the naira exchange rate at a rally in Calabar, Cross River.
The statement said the party deems it a priority to correct the misrepresentation of the statement made by Tinubu in Calabar on his campaign trail. It said the reference to the exchange rate was to disclose how the country was plunged into a forex crisis in 2015 due to the economic mismanagement of the PDP.
It went further to state that, Nigerians should not lose sight of the fact that the PDP left the forex reserve at $28 billion by May 2015.
