The giant in the fight against Apartheid South Africa, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, is dead at age 90.
The outspoken former Cape Town archbishop death was announced on Twitter today, December 26, by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Making the announcement of the death of the Nobel Peace Prize laureate and veteran of South Africa’s struggle against white minority rule, Cyril Ramaphosa, wrote;
“The passing of Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu is another chapter of bereavement in our nation’s farewell to a generation of outstanding South Africans who have bequeathed us a liberated South Africa.”
