Albert Aroldis Chapman de la Cruz is an American professional baseball relief pitcher for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball. He was born in Cuba on February 28, 1988. He has previously played in the Cuban National Series for Holguin as well as MLB games for the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs.
Chapman is known as the “Cuban Missile” or the “Cuban Flame Thrower”. He bats and throws with his left hand. Chapman pitched for Holguin both locally and abroad for the baseball team of Cuba. He left Cuba in 2009 and inked a deal with the Reds the following year.

Juan Alberto Chapman Benett and Maria Caridad De La Cruz lived in Cuba but were later helped by their son to migrate to the United States after his move to the MLB.
