Arron Banks Loses Russia Libel Case Against Carole Cadwalladr

English businessman and co-founder of Leave.EU has lost his defamation suit against Carole Cadwalladr over some comments passed via TED Talk.

Arron Banks accused freelance and investigative journalist, Carole Cadwalladr of lying against his character in a TED Talk video and on Twitter in 2019.

The 5-day trial was centered on Carole’s comment on a TED Talk video which had over 5 million views since it was first broadcast in April 2019. In the said video, Carole Cadwalladr talked about, Arron Banks’ relationship with the Russian state.

“And I am not even going to get into the lies that Arron Banks has told about his covert relationship with the Russian government.”

However, Mrs. Justice Steyn, the judge of the high court ruled that her comment could not have caused any serious harm to his reputation after Cadwalladr said she had passed her comment in the interest of the public.

After the judgment, Carole Cadwalladr thanked her legal team and the over 29,000 people who contributed to fund her legal fees.

“I literally couldn’t have done it without you,” she said in a tweet.
