Arsenal Manager Mikel Arteta is backing Thomas Partey to take long-range shots following their draw of 2-2 in the Premier League against Crytal Palace in the Premier League on Monday night.
The Gunners scored first through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but Palace equalised in the 50th minute through Christian Benteke’s shot.
Patrick Viera’s side lead with 2-1 thanks to Odsonne Edouard hitting an effort through the bar’s underside.
However, the replacement Lacazette made a goal in the last moments of the match to salvage the goal for Arsenal.
Partey, who played for 81 minutes, came near scoring the goal for his team with his long-distance shots. Arteta has encouraged the Ghanaian to try again, but only in the right places.
“Well, today with one of them he was much closer than he’s been,” Arteta said as quoted by the club’s official website.”
“It’s something that we are obviously practicing with him to determine and to decide the areas where we are more likely to score a goal and when we don’t. He has the capacity to do that because he’s done it throughout his career, and he is trying, and he needs to keep trying, but in the right areas.”
