Aryna Sabalenka Ranking: What World Ranking Is Sabalenka? Aryna Siarhiejeŭna Sabalenka is a Belarusian professional tennis player who was born on May 5, 1998, in Minsk, Belarus.

She has been ranked as high as world No. 2 in singles, and world No. 1 in doubles by the women’s Tennis Association.

Sabalenka has taken home twice Grand Slam doubles titles, the 2019 US Open and the 2021 Australian Open, alongside Elise Mertens.

Her record includes 16 championships over all, 10 of them in singles and six in doubles.

Sabalenka was not well-known until 2017, when she ascended to the top of the heap through her role in leading her Belarus Fed Cup team to an overall runner-up spot alongside Aliaksandra Sanovich, despite both placed outside of the top 75 at the time.

After the 2017 Fed Cup, she began seeing greater results in her WTA Tour, reaching four finals in 2018 and winning eight top ten wins.

Sabalenka continues to shine in singles throughout 2019 winning 3 titles from China, highlighted by a defense of her Wuhan Open title at the level of the Premier 5 level.

Not only that, but she also won the WTA Elite Trophy at the end of the calendar year. She finished both 2018 and 2019 at ranked No. 11 in the world in singles.

Sabalenka also began playing doubles regularly in the year 2019. Together with Mertens in her team, she was able to complete her Sunshine Double by winning the two Premier Mandatory tournaments in March, as well as in the Indian Wells Open and the Miami Open.

Following her US Open doubles title later in the year, she was able to qualified for the WTA Finals for the first time.

Aryna Sabalenka is currently ranked 4th in the Association of Tennis Professionals singles with, 4711 points as of April 21, 2022.

The best singles performances of Sabalenka during her Grand Slam tournaments came at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships and 2021 US Open, which saw her reach the semi-finals.
