Asad Rauf was born on 12 May 1956 in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. He was a Pakistani cricket umpire and cricketer and a member of the ICC Elite Umpire Panel from 2006 to 2013 who was embroiled in match-fixing allegations.
Rauf was found culpable in 2019 and was banned for five years. During his playing career, he represented Pakistan Universities, Lahore, the National Bank of Pakistan, and Pakistan Railways.
