Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan and former Black Stars teammates were unable to join the chat for African players who scored the most goals during the World Cup qualifiers.
Didier Drogba, the Ivorian legend, leads the chat with 18 goals. He is closely followed by Moumuni Degano from Burkina Faso, who has 17 goals.
Samuel Eto’o, a former player in Cameroon and Barcelona, has scored 16 goals, while Emmanuel Adebayor from Togo has scored 15 goals.
Islam Slimani, who scored Tuesday’s victory over Niger in Algeria, rises to fifth with 15 goals.
While Asamoah Gyan, Ghana’s greatest scorer, did not make it to the top five, he is still the African player with most goals at the World Cup.
Asamoah Gyan has scored six goals during three FIFA World Cup appearances. He is also being followed by Roger Milla, a Cameroon legend.
Milla is accompanied by Ahmed Musah from Nigeria, who hopes to lead the Super Eagles into the World Cup.
