Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has revealed that he “rescued” his main political opponent, Atiku Abubakar, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Atiku Abubakar, was the vice president under Olusegun Obasanjo when he was president but the two were known to have had a frosty relationship until they both reconciled ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Former President Obasanjo ahead of this year’s elections has announced his support for the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi.
Tinubu during a campaign rally on Monday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, said that he is the one who rescued Atiku from Obasanjo who wanted to grill him like chevon.
He revealed that the PDP presidential candidate ran away to Dubai and only returned when it was time for elections to continue what he describes as his stomach infrastructure. He added that they rehabilitated Atiku in Lagos and gave him a chance but he wasted it and took money.
