Barack Obama Settles The GOAT Debate Between Messi & Ronaldo After Argentina’s Win.

Former US President Barrack Obama joined millions of football fans from around the world in giving their opinion about the raging GOAT debate between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi is considered by many to have settled the debate after leading Argentina to their first World Cup triumph since 1986 in Qatar on Sunday night, December 18th.

Both have scored over 700 goals and won several trophies at club and international level.

For Ronaldo, his 2022 World Cup with Portugal ended prematurely after they were eliminated in the quarter-final stage by Morocco.

Ronaldo was reduced to tears after the final whistle, an ominous sign that the tournament in Qatar could be his last.

Meanwhile, Messi’s Argentina suffered a historic defeat in their first game against Saudi Arabia but their remarkable recovery saw them reach the final, per Reuters.

The 44th US President had to weigh in on the debate shortly after La Lbiceleste’s win was confirmed following a gripping encounter.

Obama took to Twitter to congratulate the South Americans but also declare Messi as GOAT. “Congrats to Argentina and to the GOAT, Lionel Messi, for an amazing World Cup victory.”

Messi and Argentina were on course to win the match before France’s golden boy Kylian Mbappe struck twice in quick succession to take the match to extra time.

The 35-year-old put Argentina 3-2 up but Mbappe answered back with a penalty, but the French fell short in the penalty shootout as Argentina won 4-2, per Sky Sports.

Personalities from different walks of life declared Messi as the best player of all time.
