Ghana international Mohammed Salisu has been shortlisted by Spanish giants FC Barcelona as a possible replacement for defender Gerard Pique.
Over the last year, the young defender has significantly improved his game at Southampton, where he has been playing in the English Premier League.
Although his manager at St. Mary’s says he still needs to polish his skills, his talent has never been in doubt, with many predicting he will become one of the best in his position in the coming years.
Today’s news suggests that he could one day land a big move to FC Barcelona, which has won the Uefa Champions League on multiple occasions.
According to the Spanish tabloid Fichajes, Mohammed Salisu is one of five defenders being closely monitored by the Spanish giants.
Aymeric Laporte, Sven Botman, Matthijs De Ligt, and Cristian ‘Cuti’ Romero are among the others.
FC Barcelona is interested in signing at least one of these players to replace club legend Gerard Pique on a long-term basis.
