BBC Radio 2 DJ And Only Connect Creator Chris Stuart Dies Aged 73

The creator of the quiz show Only Connect and DJ for BBC Radio 2 Chris Stuart passed away at the age of 73. Known as one of the greatest to work with the broadcasting company, Chris Stuart was also the commentator during Princess Diana’s burial.

Stuart’s passing was announced by the BBC in a statement, and Unscripted director Kate Phillips paid homage.

“We are devastated to hear of the passing of Chris Stuart, the creator and executive producer of one of the BBC’s most popular quiz shows Only Connect, and previously a presenter on both BBC Radio Wales and the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show,” Kate Phillips said.

“He was an extremely talented and clever man and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time. So many people have benefited and learnt their craft from him, he leaves an incredible legacy behind,” she added.

Before making his impact on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 4, Stuart was one of the initial hosts on BBC Radio Wales starting in 1978.
