Veteran English actor and singer Bernard Cribbins has passed away at the age of 93.
Born on December 29, 1928, in Derker, Oldham, United Kingdom, Bernard Cribbins become a fan favorite after 7entire decades on screen playing roles in The Railway Children, the Carry On films, and Fawlty Towers as well as other productions.
Announcing his passing, his agent Gavin Barker Associates in a statement said: “Beloved actor Bernard Cribbins OBE has passed away at the age of 93.
“His career spanned seven decades with such diverse work ranging from films like The Railway Children and the Carry On series, hit 60’s song Right Said Fred, a notorious guest on Fawlty Towers and narrating The Wombles.
“He worked well into his 90s, recently appearing in Doctor Who and the CBeebies series Old Jack’s Boat. He lost his wife of 66 years, Gill, last year.”
Speaking on his contribution to the industry, the agency added that he had contributed immensely to British entertainment even in his old age.
“Bernard’s contribution to British entertainment is without question. He was unique, typifying the best of his generation, and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and working with him.”

They lived in Weybridge, Surrey, and had no children, with Cribbins revealing in 2018 that they “lost one quite early on and that was the only time they got near it”
