Ex-President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama’s appointment as African Union’s (AU) special envoy in helping to mediate its political impasse with Kenya has been rejected by Somalia.
According to Somalia in a letter written to AU Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat, John Mahama has extensive links with Kenya and for that matter will not support him in his new role.
The Somalian Foreign and International Cooperation Minister Mohamed Abdirazak aslo added that the former President of Ghana has close association with the leadership of Kenya and for that matter cannot be trusted to be unbiased in delivering a possible solution.
