Former CBS News White House correspondent William “Bill” Plante has died.
Plante was one of the longest-serving broadcast journalists who covered the White House.
He had been a CBS News senior White House correspondent for 35 years which includes the tenures of Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama.
With a career that spanned more than half a century, he covered 13 presidential elections and the Vietnam war.
He attended Laloya University Chicago at the same working at a local radio station as a news reader.
He had a degree in business administration and humanities.
Plante died at his Washington home of respiratory failure. He was 84.
