Veteran CBS News correspondent Bill Plante has died, aged 84.
He is reported to have died in his home in Washington, D.C of respiratory failure on 28 September 2022.
Plante had covered 13 presidential elections and been the senior White House correspondent for 35 years for CBS News.

Robin Smith is the second wife of the late CBS News broadcast journalist Bill Plante.
They had been married since 1987.
Smith is the founder of Video/Actio Inc.
She has over four decades of experience producing documentaries, news stories, training videos, and media for special events.
Robin has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Ohio University and a Master of Science degree from Boston University in Documentary Filmmaking.
She worked at CBS News in the later 1980s as a producer on Sunday Morning with Charles Kuralt.
She has been on the social justice committee of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Washington for the past two decades.
Barbara Barnes Ortieg was the first wife of Bill Plante.
He adopted four of her sons from a previous relationship.
Their married was short-lived and ended in a divorce.
