The Black Queens, Ghana’s women’s national team, put up an impressive performance to register a 3-0 win over Benin on Sunday to kickstart the Nora Hauptle era as the team’s head coach.
The friendly match was played at the Friendship Stadium in Cotonou and saw the Black Queens score three unanswered goals in the first half to walk away with the win.
In setting the tone for what would be a dominant performance, Princella Adubea gave the Black Queens the lead 28 into the match.
The lead was doubled nines minutes after the first goal through debutant, Princess Owusu.
Evelyn Badu also put her name on the scoresheet with a delightful volley to make it 3-0 for the Black Queens at the stroke of half-time to wrap up the scoring.
No goals were recorded in the second half of the game as Swiss coach Nora Hauptle cruised to a delightful debut as coach of the Black Queens.
The Black Queens will next play Togo on February 25 to round up their friendlies this month.
