Black Stars To Establish Three-Week Pre-AFCON Training Camp

As part of preparations for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, the Black Stars of Ghana will spend three weeks in Qatar.

The Ghana senior national team will depart for Doha on December 22, 2021. There they will engage in intense training before embarking on Cameroon on January 7, 2022.

Three international friendlies have been set up by the Ghana Football Association, as well as a pre tournament game with an unnamed club for the Black Stars.

On Tuesday, Coach Milovan Rajevac will name his provisional team. Then on December 30, he will name the 28-man AFCON 2021 team.

The Black Stars were drawn in Group C of next year’s Africa Cup of Nations. They will start their quest for a fifth title against Morocco with the opening game.

Later, the team will play Gabon and Comoros Island.

Since 1982, Ghana hasn’t won the Africa Cup of Nations. They have been very close on three occasions. The last time they were close was in 2015, when they lost to the Ivory Coast via penalties.
