Ghana’s 2023 AFCON qualifiers opponents, Angola, have suffered an injury setback ahead of their crunch match on Thursday.
The Black Stars will come up against the Palancas Negras at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, on Thursday in what many experts say will prove to be a difficult match for both sides.
Angola will go into the game without the services of their three influential players, Núrio Fortuna, Nelson Luz, and Zito Luvumbo due to injuries.
In replacement of the trio who will be unavailable, Angola coach Pedro Goncalves has called up Geraldo Costa and Tó Carneiro to fill in for the injured players.
This however implies that the Angola coach will have only 25 players to work with instead of the 26 initially called.
The Palancas Negra have flown into Kumasi directly from their camp in Algeria ahead of the Thursday match.
Ghana leads the qualifying group after a draw and a win in their first two games, but Angola is close behind, and two wins will give the Black Stars a solid chance to qualify.
