Born on September 28, 1943, in Bridge of Allan, United Kingdom, Robert Hope was a Scottish footballer who made more than 400 appearances as a midfielder in the Football League.
He spent the majority of his career with West Bromwich Albion, where he played more than 300 league matches and helped to win the team two major trophies. He won seven caps for Scotland.
Hope played seven times in the Scotland national team.
Five of these appearances were during the 1967 overseas trip, which the Scottish Football Association decided in October 2021 to classify as full internationals. This boosted Hope’s cap count from two and seven.
