Rapper Medikal, also referred to as Samuel Adu-Frimpong, is being held in jail for the next five days.
The rapper pleaded not guilty only one charge of showing ammunition and weapons.
The accused was placed in prison custody for five days in the court ruled by Justice Emmanuel Essandoh, a High Court judge with an additional responsibility as the judge of the circuit court.
The lawyer for the accused, Emmanuel Yeboah Ghana, claimed that the defendant is famous and has been a resident of the country for all of his existence, and is not going to defy the law.
If he was granted bail, he claimed there were people who could provide sureties, such as his mother and wife.
While arguing against bail, the prosecution, led by chief inspector Dennis Terkpetey, stated that the court should take into account the interests of society in general.
He stated that there is one aspect in the matter that is still under investigation and that he ought to be sent back to the police station.
