Brigman Owens was born on 16 February 1943 in Linden, Texas. He was an American professional football player who played as a safety in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins.
While in High School at Fullerton Union High School he played as quarterback. At the University of Cincinnati, he was named as starting quarterback.
Owens began his professional football career with Dallas Cowboys after he was selected in the seventh round of the 1965 NFL Draft and was converted to safety.
He moved to the Washington Redskins in 1970 and played until he retired in 1977. He was inducted into the Redskins’ Ring of Fame.
After retiring from football, he went to finish law school and later worked as assistant executive director with the National Football League Players Association.
Brigman was the owner of a commercial real estate development company.
Owens died on 21 June 2022.
