Bruno Fraga Soares was born on 27 February 1982 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. He is a Brazilian professional tennis player who specializes in doubles.
The 2016 Australian and US Opens won alongside Jamie Murray, and the 2020 US Open won with Mate Pavic in the men’s doubles are a part of the six Grand Slams won by Soares.
He also won the 2012 US Open, 2014 US Open, and the 2016 Australian Open with Ekaterina Makarova, Sania Mirza, and Elena Vesnina respectively in the mixed doubles.
Soares follows Maria Bueno, Thomaz Koch, and Gustavo Kuerten as the fourth Brazilian to win a major title across all disciplines. He has 35 ATP Tour titles in his trophy cabinet.
Soares has been a member of the Brazil Davis Cup team since 2005 and is a double Olympian, having represented Brazil at the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games.
He turned professional in 2001 and is currently being coached by Hugo Daibert.
