William Nathaniel Buck Showalter III is a manager for the Major League Baseball’s New York Mets. He was born on May 23, 1956, in the United States.  He has previously managed the Texas Rangers from 2003 to 2006, Arizona Diamondbacks, New York Yankees, and Baltimore Orioles.

Buck Showalter himself was a baseball player and featured in a number of teams across Minor League Baseball. He has worked as a television analyst for ESPN and the YES Network for Yankees games.

Showalter, a three-time American League  Manager of the Year, is known for transforming baseball teams into playoff contenders in a short period of time.

Before a players’ strike prematurely terminated the 1994 season, Buck had guided the Yankees in their ascent from last place in the AL East to first.
