It has been announced that Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy will headline the finals of the 2023 UEFA Champions League.
The announcement was made on Thursday 16 March through UEFA’s official Champions League Twitter handle.
In reaction to the announcement, Burna Boy who was excitedly disclosed to his numerous fans in a video on Twitter that he will be performing at the Champions League final to be held in Istanbul, Turkey.
Burna Boy gained international recognition with his hit song “YE” in 2018 and has since gone on to become one of the world’s biggest stars.
He won a Grammy Award for his album “Twice As Tall” and is one of Africa’s most decorated artists.
Burna Boy has sold out choice arenas around the world as his music continues to attract international listeners.
The 2021 and 2022 Champions League finals held in Lisbon, Portugal, and Paris, France respectively were headlined by American DJ, artist, and Producer Marshmallow and Cuban Pop star Camila Cabello respectively.
The 2023 Champions League Final will be held on 10 June 2023 in Istanbul Turkey and Afrobeats is set to take center stage at the mega event which is watched by millions across the globe.
