English forward Callum Hudson-Odoi has not met the expectations of officials and fans of Bundesliga side Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
When the England-born Ghanaian winger first starred in the Bundesliga on a loan deal from Chelsea FC last summer, expectations were high and he had received a lot of praise but his current form is uninspiring with the youngster having contributed only one goal and an assist to his team’s effort in 20 matches.
Although his side is challenging for trophies, the winger is expected to be returning to England.
Bayer Leverkusen Managing Director Simon Rolfes in an interview with Kicker said Odoi has to show consistency and go into dangerous areas, and become a goal threat.
He says that the player has to show a lot more presence because he believes he can do a lot more than he currently does.
Rolfes added that Hudson-Odoi has the technical qualities to do so.
He cited Sardar Azmoun as an example of how Hudson-Odoi can put himself in a different situation.
The managing director concluded that Callum is a friendly person, but he has to use his elbows more on the pitch.
