Carson James Wentz is an American football quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League.
Wentz was a college football player at North Dakota State. He won five NCAA FCS national championships. The Philadelphia Eagles selected him second in the 2016 NFL Draft. This made him the highest-drafted FCS player.
The Eagles’ most successful season was 2017, when Wentz led them to an 11-2 record. Even though he was injured, Wentz helped the Eagles to be the top seed in the National Football Conference (NFC). This culminated in the Eagles’ first Super Bowl title in Super Bowl LII.
He was also awarded second-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors. He helped Philadelphia return to the playoffs in his second season, but further injuries restricted his participation. Wentz was injured in 2020 and lost his job as a starter to Jalen Hurts, a rookie. He was then traded to Indianapolis.
