Casper Ruud is a professional tennis player who was born on 22 December 1998.
He is the first Norwegian man to reach a Grand Slam tournament finale, the first to reach an ATP Tour Masters 1000 final, and the first to win an ATP title.
In June 2022, Ruud surpassed his father, Christian Ruud as the highest ever ranked Norwegian player in history when he reached a career-high ranking of world number 6.
He turned professional in 2015 and is coached by his father, Christian Ruud who himself was a professional tennis player.
As a junior, he reached the third round of both the 2015 French Open boys’ singles and 2015 US Open boys’ singles events.
Ruud started the year 2016 as the world’s No. 1 ranked junior player on January 4, becoming the first Norwegian to do so.
