He turned professional in 2015 and is coached by his father, Christian Ruud who himself was a professional tennis player.
As a junior, he reached the third round of both the 2015 French Open boys’ singles and 2015 US Open boys’ singles events.
Ruud started the year 2016 as the world’s No. 1 ranked junior player on January 4, becoming the first Norwegian to do so.

Lele Ruud is the mother of Casper Ruud. She has kept a very low profile, even though she has two very famous men in her life; her husband and her son.
