Christine Marie Evert also known as Chris Evert Lloyd was born on 21 December 1954 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
She is an American former tennis player who was at a point in time a world number one; a ranking she held for 260 weeks.
Evert has 18 major singles titles under her belt; this includes seven French Open titles and six US Open titles.
Evert began taking tennis lessons from her father Jimmy Evert when she was five years old.
She played her first senior tournament in 1969 where she reached the semi-finals. Christine was a right-handed baseline player who turned professional in 1972.
Evert currently owns and runs a tennis academy called Evert Tennis Academy in Boca Raton, Florida with her brother.
She lives in Boca Raton, Florida.
