On November 14, 1954, Condoleezza “Condi” Rice was born in Birmingham, Alabama. She was the daughter of Angelena, who worked as a high school teacher, and John, who worked as the high school guidance counselor. Her name has a connection to an Italian song that means “With honey.”
At a very young age, she enrolled in lessons to study French, skating, and piano. Her piano lessons have started to keep the pianist in mind as she approaches the age of five. Later, she obtained her Colorado high school diploma and enrolled in the University of Denver, where her father served as assistant dean.
Rice has used her musical knowledge from the Aspen Music Festival and School. She enjoyed meeting students who were far superior than her and learning from them.
She then earned her master’s degree in political science from the University of Notre Dame. She also attended Russian studies at Moscow State University. She also earned a PhD in political science from the Korbel School of International Studies in 1981.
