Court To Hear Akuapem Poloo’s Appeal On October 25

The Criminal Division of the Accra High Court is expected to consider the appeal motion made by Rosemond Alade Brown, aka Akuapem Poloo, who challenged her conviction on the 25th of October 2021.

On June 16, Akuapem Poloo was found guilty of her own plea for an indefinite sentence of 90 days through the Circuit Court presided over by Christiana Cann.

She was later granted bail in the High Court pending notice of appeal by her legal counsel, Andrew Kudzo Vortia.

Defense Counsel Andrew Kudzo Vortia has since satisfied all the prerequisites for the appellant’s appeal.

The Attorney General’s office however ordered a hearing notice to be given to the Lawyer representing an appellant (Akuapem Poloo).

The Attorney General also started the appeals process.

According to information gathered by EIB Network’s Court Correspondent, Murtala Inusah, the two parties have submitted their addresses for examination by the High Court.

The appeal has been tentatively scheduled for the Monday, 25th of October 2021, to allow this appeal to be heard.
