Crystal Palace Football Club are currently in talks with the Ghana Football Association over the arrival date of Jordan Ayew in the Black Stars training in Qatar ahead of the 2021 AFCON next month.
European Club Association and World Leagues Forum requested from CAF that players should be given extra days before they join their respective camps after their plans to stop the African players from participating in the tournament to no avail.
CAF has granted the request and has informed the various countries to expect the players to their camping no later than January 3, 2022.
However, Crystal Palace are hoping to have Jordan for a few more days before joining his Black Stars teammates.
“The three will go to AFCON. It’s a major tournament, so we respect that, and they’re very proud to play.
We are not sure when everybody is going to leave, there’s an ongoing discussion between the players and the federations and managers.
We are still seeking clarification on when they will go. Some may go earlier than others,” says assistant boss Osian Roberts.
