Crystal Palace will miss key players Jordan Ayew and Jeffrey Schlupp for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The duo will join the Black Stars for next year’s Cup of Nations as Ghana seeks to end a 40-year wait for the African cup trophy.
The 2021 African Cup of Nations had to be postponed to January 2022 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The tournament has been slated for January 9th to February 6th.
Ayew and Schlupp aren’t the only players the Eagles will be missing, as Cheikhou Kouyate and Wilfried Zaha join the Senegalese and Ivorian teams respectively.
Their absence will be a huge blow for the South-London side, who will be facing Brighton and Liverpool during that time in the English Premier League.
The quartet will also be out of an FA Cup tie within that period.
And should Ghana, Ivory Coast, and Senegal advance to the latter stages of the competition, the four players will miss the match against Norwich City.
