Daniil Sergeyevich Medvedev was born on 11 February 1996 in Moscow, Russia. He is a professional tennis player.
The Association of Tennis Professionals ranks him currently as the world’s No.1.
Medvedev has 13 ATP Tour singles titles, including the 2021 US Open and 2020 ATP under his belt.
He defeated Novak Djokovic who was then the world No.1 in the final of the 2021 US Open to win the trophy at stake.
As a youth, he took harpsichord and guitar lessons aside from tennis and was enrolled in a specialized school where he studied physics and math at a specialized school.
He then went to the Moscow State Institute of International Relations to study economics and commerce; he later dropped out to focus on tennis.
Daniil has a diploma in coaching from the Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth, and Tourism.
He is coached by Gilles Cervara.

Yelena Medvedeva and Yuliya Turchaninova are Daniil’s older siblings. They are both females.
