Karim Zito, Dreams FC head coach has said that Ghana owes its qualification to the quarter-finals of the ongoing CHAN 2022 in Algeria largely to the stellar performance during their second group game against Sudan.
The Black Galaxies came from behind to defeat Sudan 3-1 to put themselves in good stead for qualifying for the next stage of the tournament.
Sudan drew first blood through Hussein Mohammed on the half-hour mark but Ghana secured victory with goals from Konadu Yiadom, Afriyie Barnieh, and Suraj Seidu.
Goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim had to come up with great saves to keep Ghana in a good place to qualify for the next phase.
In an interview with Peace FM, coach Karim Zito said that he believes everyone is happy about the results Ghana has chalked thus far in the tournament although they were achieved the hard way.
He said that Danlad came to the rescue of the team because it forgot to defend due to the attacking intent of the squad on match day.
The man of the match in the encounter between Ghana and Sudan was David Abagna.
