Born in Northern Ireland on August 14, 1968, Darren Christopher Clarke, is a professional golfer who competes on the PGA Tour Champions after previously competing on the European Tour and PGA Tour.
He has 21 victories throughout the world’s major golf tours, including the European Tour, PGA Tour, Sunshine Tour, and Japan Golf Tour.
His greatest accomplishment was winning the 2011 Open Championship at Royal St. George’s in England, which was his first major triumph after more than 20 years and 54 tries.
Clarke has also triumphed in two World Golf Championship competitions, most notably the 2000 WGC-Andersen Consulting Match Play Championship that he won by defeating Tiger Woods.
Clarke had a top-10 ranking in the early 2000s and was considered one of the best European players to have graced the game
